The Baltic Eye (German: Baltisches Auge), or the Stomper, is a passive-aggressive enemy in Wolfenstein: The New Order. It is a robot that guards Deathshead's Compound.

Description[]

The Baltic Eye is a giant tripod robot that shoots electrical charges through its "eye" lens at the enemy. Although the discharge is the only weapon, it deals massive damage. The robot is almost invulnerable, with the lens being its only weak spot.

History[]

Allegedly the Baltic Eye was built by General Deathshead to guard his base. During the Allied attack in 1946, the robot fought off the Allies walking through the beach near the facility. It is unknown if, canonically, it got destroyed in the battle.

Combat Tactics[]

It is possible to destroy the Baltic Eye using the 8.8 cm Flak gun of the cliffside bunker, although it does not affect the battle's outcome. Firing at the robot will make it turn around and walk toward the bunker, charging its electrical weapon. Three shots in the "eye", or alternatively waiting for the "eye" to charge halfway and firing a single shot will destroy it. Failing to do it causes the Baltic Eye to obliterate B. J. Blazkowicz, killing him instantly[1]. Shooting at the robot and abandoning the gun causes it to return to fighting at the beach.

Trivia[]

  • The Baltic Eye is the first enemy robot sighted in Wolfenstein: The New Order.
  • Propaganda posters found in Deathshead's Compound indicate that the electrical devices that base soldiers wear on their backs protect them from the robot's weapon.
  • Unlike the London Monitor, the Baltic Eye has no codex in the COLLECTIBLES.
