In Wolfenstein 3D and Spear of Destiny, Blood (or Gibs) will give the player one health point if they are at 11 health or under. Otherwise, it does nothing.
In the Mac Family, Blood does not exist.
Due both to the counterintuitive nature of this item as well as the 12% health limit, many if not most players are unaware that blood has healing power at all, and those who are tend to have found this out accidentally. When walking over blood, the player will hear a sucking or slurping sound, the blood will disappear, and the player's health will increase by 1%.
Strategy[]
If you're under 11 health, drink any blood you come across! While it is cannibalistic, the extra HP may help you survive long enough to find a more useful healing item.
